In the US, a mountain lion attacked a male and the assistant Sheriff

On Wednesday afternoon, March 11, a mountain lion attacked a resident of Colorado and a Deputy who arrived on the scene in Larimer County.

According to law enforcement officers, the animal was killed, and the man and the assistant Sheriff with injuries took to hospital. Fortunately, their life is out of danger.

Representatives of the County Sheriff’s office Larimer and employees of Colorado Parks & Wildlife responded to the message on the attack of a Cougar near Loveland, North of Denver.

Sheriff’s deputies chased a mountain lion to a trailer Park to protect people living there, and that’s when the mountain lion attacked one of the police officers.

«Mountain lion bit her in the shoulder, — the eyewitness told. – Sleeve dress was torn. I talked to her. It was OK, but pretty excited.»

The attack took place in the «deaf» rural, unincorporated parts of Larimer County West of Loveland. Loveland is a city with a population of approximately 77 000 people 45 miles North of Denver (Colorado).

Estimates of the population of mountain lions in Colorado range from 3,000 to 7,000, as reported at the Colorado Parks & Wildlife.

According to local authorities, in General, attacks by mountain lions in the state are quite rare. In August 2019 8-year-old boy was attacked by a Cougar near his home in Bailey, southwest of Denver. The baby survived. It was later found and killed two mountain lion, one of which, according to law enforcement officers, and attacked the boy.
