According to police, the woman who shot the children and his mother, then committed suicide in the apartment in San Antonio (Texas), recently lost custody of the children.
The children’s father called police Monday morning after seeing the body through the shutters outside the apartment.
This was reported to journalists by the chief of police of San Antonio William McManus. The man immediately tried to contact the mother of the children.
«According to father she’s recently lost custody of the children, and this has led to the tragedy, said McManus. – I have no words to describe what happened. Two small children, grandmother and mother.»
Police believe that the 38-year-old woman shot and killed her 68-year-old mother, 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son before shooting himself.
Detectives are investigating how long the bodies were in the apartment. Law enforcement officers are not told why the mother lost custody of the children. The children’s father told police that the woman had no history of abuse or something like that.
When the chief of police of San Antonio asked whether the tragedy to be associated with stress during the outbreak of coronavirus and quarantine mode, McManus was immediately rejected these assumptions.
He added that the police dealt with cases where parents have committed a murder-suicide after losing custody of children.
