Heart attack patient dies when ambulance collides with fire engine

An ambulance delivering a patient with a heart attack to the hospital collided with a fire truck on its way to a call in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. As a result, the patient died and a member of his family was seriously injured.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Throop Avenue after 12:45 pm on Thursday. The recording, obtained by Williamsburg News, captures the moment of the collision: you can see how one of the cars crashes into another, literally ramming it.

Family members identified the deceased patient as 59-year-old Jamil Almansuri, whom friends called Mike. His brother told the media that Jamil owned a small bodega near the scene.

The victim's brother is consoled at the scene. He told me he couldn't believe his brother died and had to see it for himself. Very sad. # abc7NY pic.twitter.com/XLeN6RLW8O
