The incident occurred in the Sacramento area, where bars and nightclubs are concentrated. These establishments close at 2 am, so there were a lot of people on the street. The victims of the shooting were 3 men and 3 women. The city's police spokesman, Zach Eaton, said the bodies were left lying on the street for several hours because the process of reenacting the events was too complicated. This is the second mass shooting in the capital of California in the past 5 weeks.

Sacramento Police Chief Katie Lester has appealed to the public to help identify the suspects in the killing and wounding of people, providing any information about the perpetrators. The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. near the Golden 1 Center arena, where the local Sacramento Kings basketball team plays. One firearm and 12 people with injuries of varying severity were found at the scene of the incident.

The evidence was immediately marked, and the surrounding neighborhoods cordoned off. The identities and ages of those killed have not yet been released. Among the family members of the victims was Pamela Harris, who received a call at 2:15 am from her daughter saying that her 38-year-old son Sergio had been shot outside a nightclub.

"I just passed out when she said that he's dead," the woman admitted.

Harris is still waiting for official confirmation from the police and refuses to leave the scene until he knows what happened.

"I'm not going anywhere. It's like a dream," — said Pamela.

Shortly after the shooting, community activist Berry Akcius, who works to prevent acts of violence with the use of firearms, rushed to the place. The first thing he saw was a young woman covered in blood. She spoke on the phone and reported on the death of her sister. The shooting in Sacramento was heard just a few blocks from the State Capitol building — an area that has recently become an entertainment center.

There is still no additional information about what happened, and the number the dead and wounded are difficult to ascertain. On his Twitter page, he wrote:

"The increase in gun violence is the bane of our city, state, and nation. I advocate action to reduce them."

Recall that just about a month ago in Sacramento, a man shot dead a man and three of his children before committing suicide.
