In Prospect Park people are attacked by squirrel

In Prospect Park for five people were attacked by «unusually aggressive» squirrel. The Department of health is asking anyone who was bitten, seek medical help in order to avoid possible infection with rabies.
According to the representative of the Department, the incident occurred in the same area of the Park, near the entrance at Parkside and Ocean Avenue.
The attack occurred on Tuesday, 18 July 2017, and on Thursday, 20th July 2017.

«This is an exceptional incident. the statement of the Department of health of the city — Squirrels are rarely infected with rabies. However, given the unusual aggressive behaviour, the health Department operates on the assumption that the animal might be infected».

If the squirrel was infected with rabies, she’s probably already dead, they added.
