In Manhattan, taxi driver knocked down 80-year-old woman, she died from injuries

Last Friday, at about 17:45, 80-year-old Barbara Horne was walking on a pedestrian crossing on East 70 Street, when she suddenly crashed into a car.

The driver was 49-year-old taxi driver who was driving North on Third Avenue, but then decided to turn left on East 70 Street.

To a scene there arrived the staff of the new York police and ambulance. The victim was lying unconscious, she sustained serious injuries.

“He hit it and pulled over. He moved her,” said a witness to the accident named Susan.

The elderly woman was taken to medical center of New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell, where doctors fought for her life, but, in the end, she died.

Syed Ullah, the driver of a medallion taxi remained at the scene. He was arrested, charged that he didn’t yield to the pedestrian.

At the time of trial in this case its license is issued by the Agency New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, will be invalid.
