Newport beach was flooded by water after damage to seawalls

Damage to the sea wall led to flooding of streets in the coastal city of Newport beach, orange County.

Flooding began on Wednesday after 20:00 in the area of the 500 block of 36th street on Balboa Peninsula, and soon the sea water began to flood nearby areas.

Emergency arose because of negligence of the builders who damaged the seawall during the demolition of the house. During high tide, water from the ocean began to go through the building and to flood the streets.

Most of the buildings have remained intact, but some of them moisture still leaked. According to a resident of one of the affected houses in the room stood about 4 cm of water.

To correct the situation and prevent its aggravation, utility workers and firefighters had fenced off the street with sandbags and pumped out with the liquid.
