Mom from new Jersey dumped in the woods 10-year-old son with special needs

In the woods near a military base in new Jersey was found by a 10 year old boy with special needs. He wandered into the forest after the mother brought him over with his things and left, told the state police.

Last Thursday, a passing driver noticed the child in a wooded area near the visitor’s center, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst near Trenton. The driver contacted the military, which brought the foundling to the visitor center and fed. Center staff examined the child and found he had minor injuries.

The boy told staff that his mother took him with the Luggage in the woods and left there. He said he fell asleep and woke up hungry.

The child could call the mother’s name and her phone number employees who contacted her.

The state police brought the abandoned boy to the station Bradenton, where he found him temporary shelter.

The boy’s mother, 39-year-old Debra Whisler of Millville, told police that when she learned that her son does not fall under the program of Joint Base McGuire-Dixled him to a nearby forest and left there.

She was arrested and charged that it endangered the welfare of a child. Later the boy’s mother released pending trial.
