Lincoln memorial defaced by vandals. The incident occurred around 4.30 am on Tuesday. The monument was painted bright red and silver paint graffiti, which was sprayed by using the spray. Fortunately, the paint did not hurt the memorial, in the moment, work is underway for cleaning.
According to the national Park Service, this is not the first case of vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial.
In July 2013, a giant statue of the 16th President of the USA was covered in green paint in the area of the left leg. Then The Washington Post reported that it was the first case of vandalism against the monument since its discovery in 1922.
Later, in February 2017 Lincoln memorial, the Washington monument and the world war II memorial had been defaced with inscriptions made with a marker. On the monuments was discovered some phrases, including: «Jackie shot JFK», «blood test is a lie, leukemia, cancer HIV get 2nd opinion» and «9/11/01 Misty pilots fly planes into the WTC 1, 2, P, F».
