Godbolt added that he was not going to be taken alive, he hoped that he shot the police officers.

The Governor of Mississippi Phil Bryant urged residents of the state to pray for the dead. He also said police officers who sacrifice their lives to protect the people.

«Too often we lose the best. I thank law enforcement for their hard work,» said Bryant.
