Vandals defaced the Church and synagogue in Manhattan

The police are looking for vandals who on Friday had disfigured the facades of two religious places in Manhattan – the Church in the Upper East side and the synagogue in the Lower East side. Graffiti on the walls depicted a swastika.

«When we came here, we saw the swastika, which was depicted on the wall of a building directly under the beautiful sign that says: «Hate doesn’t live here,» said Church pastor Reverend James Kerpen.

The synagogue was also discovered the inscription «KKK» (Ku Klux Klan).

Graffiti appeared on the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew on West 86th Street and congregation Beth Hachasidim DePolen, located on East Broadway.

According to police, the incidents have no connection between them.

Speaking about the incident, mayor bill de Blasio vowed on Twitter that «Hatred will not be tolerated in new York.»
