In California want to abolish tuition fees for freshmen

The decision of the Governor of California, was the beginning of the way to free education in the state. According to a press release from the office of Jerry brown, on Friday he signed the bill into law AB 19, providing for the abolition of fees for the first year of College education.

A proposal was made by state Assemblyman Miguel Santiago. According to the author, the implementation of his plan will stimulate the education of those young people who could not afford under other circumstances.

The bill, AB 19, free is only the first course — the rest will have to pay. However, the first step already means a lot, says Santiago.

«Community College changed my life. Education has given me choices and opportunities that opened doors. I know that free College will change the lives of all Californians. To give the education community the means to improve his ability. Without a doubt, I am very happy!», — responded to Santiago for approval of their proposal.

Below the new law came into force, funds need to be budgeted for next year.

However, brown signed an offer Santiago in spite of the opposition of the financial administration. The Agency advocates that the right to free education received only applicants with low income.

Note that the latter can now qualify for discounts on tuition, but, as practice shows, rarely use their right.
