The man spent almost 30 years in prison for a crime he did not commit

Yesterday, November 14, Illinois has released from prison the man who served 29 years for a crime he didn’t commit.

Arthur brown of Chicago was a little over thirty, when he was accused that he started the fire in building, killing two people.

As reported by NBC News, Arthur worked as a mechanic. Once he was summoned to the store that sold the video to fix the lock. A few hours later the shop was burned during a fire killed two people.

Brown’s lawyers argued that the police simply knocked on a man’s confession in the literal sense of the word.

Only years later resumed the investigation led to another person who, as it turned out, messed up the gas system in the room before summoned to brown. From this and there was a flash of gasand then fire.

«There was no evidence, no witnesses. There was nothing on Arthur, except his forced confession,» say the lawyers.

Last month a judge in cook County ruled that the prisoner’s confession was made under duress. And yesterday, after a 29-year prison term, of Arthur brown was released.

«I knew this day would come,» said brown at a press conference. He added that all this time, hoping for the best, and in prison, tried to read more, to keep a clear mind.

Besides, the man thanked his lawyer from Illinois, Kim Fox, which achieved a retrial.

«The only thing you can do in this case is to believe in yourself and think about the family. I feel like a bird released into the sky. Now I have to pick up the pieces of my life together and go forward,» said Arthur brown.
