Literally at the end of November, Emerson College in new York conducted a survey of registered voters on the legalization of marijuana. The results were quite impressive: 62% of respondents supported such an initiative.
But a second study showed that is not so clear when residents were asked to answer not only «Yes» or «no» and provided a variety of options.
According to the results of a new survey full legalization of light drugs supported only 40% of respondents. 22% of respondents agreed to the fact that marijuana legalized solely for medical purposes, 26% — to legalize in medicine and decriminalization of cannabis, and 11% of new Yorkers called for a complete ban of marijuana.
Among women and men range of opinions is small, but 1% more women support legalization.
Reduced the percentage of supporters of legalization with increasing age of respondents. So, if 66% of respondents aged 18 to 34 supported the initiative, residents over 75 years opposed (61%). But for the voices of seniors were also 21 percent.
