New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced the adoption of a new state law, which prohibits possession of weapons to people who have committed crimes related to domestic violence.

«Today I announce that the new legislation will be deprived of the right to a firearm for those who committed any crime related to domestic violence,» said Cuomo.

«Given the inextricable link between domestic violence and a lethal weapon, this legislation provides for the seizure of firearms from anyone who was found guilty of crimes and misdemeanors related to violence in the family.»

Governor Cuomo also stated that 2017 will be remembered as «the year of reckoning, when the tragedy of mass shootings, as well as cultural and institutional harassment of women ceased to ignore.»

«Let’s make new York safer for everyone,» he said.

The initiators of the bill were Democrats. The decision was taken after a series of mass executions committed during the past year, including the recent in Las Vegas and Texas.

The bill also would require the justice Department to conduct a large-scale study that establishes a link between committing acts of violence in the family and committing mass executions.

However, today, based on my own analysis, Democrat Mike Quigley said that all the perpetrators of mass shootings this year, acted alone and was last seen in the manifestation of violence towards their families.
