Allegations of sexual harassment lodged against movie Mogul Harvey Weinstein , and many other famous people, pushing legislators to revise some laws associated with sex.
A member of the house of representatives, Republican Dan Donovan urged his colleagues to ban the sale and distribution of child-sex-dolls. According to Donovan, his idea is to fight pedophiles who buy and sell silicone dolls resembling children under the age of 3 years.
He stressed that a person who has a sex-doll, like a child, may also be involved in different kinds of sexual crimes against children.
«For 20 years as a Prosecutor, I was sent to jail the animals who realized their disgusting fantasies associated with those innocent children… Now, as a legislator in Congress, I introduce a bill to ban modern loopholes for paedophiles: child sex dolls,» said Donovan.
A petition calling on stop child sex doll, has already signed more than 154 thousand people on the website change.org. In the text of the petition emphasized that, according to the authorities, the people who buy these toys are usually found by the police and child pornography.
Stacy Rumney, President of Stop Child Predator, believes that «without a doubt, these dolls are… will lead to an increase in the number of cases of sexual violence and exploitation of these children.»
Noel Sharkey, co-Director of the Foundation responsible robotics, said that the trend of buying these toys is alarming.
«Such devices are, at least, will have a detrimental effect on society and pose a threat to the sexual safety of our children,» said Sharkey.
