Three owners of the companies that owns diagnostic centers (laboratories) in Brooklyn are accused of major fraud in the health sector.
According to a statement from the U.S. attorney, made on Monday, from January 2014 to December 2016 45-year-old T. Kaganovich, 57-year-old , Ramaze, Mitaishvili and 42-year-old Iskenderov, Siora illegally received reimbursement through Medicare and Medicaid in the amount of $ 19 million. The total damage amounted to $ 44 million, the rest of the money, the criminals did not manage to get, as he was detained. Owning ten Brooklyn diagnostic laboratories, the criminals were already familiar to militiamen scheme. Fraudsters paid to doctors so-called «kickbacks» to those prescribed to patients for expensive tests and stuff. Further, the company received a refund from the medical insurance programs. It is known that Kaganovich and Mitaishvili are co-owners of such centers diagnostic Imaging Sophisticated, East Coast Diagnostics, Diagnostics East Shore, East and West Management RM Global. Iskenderova owned by Global Testing, Imagine Liberty Mobile, Liberty Mobile Testing, Med Tech Services and Scanwell Diagnostics.
All three are accused of fraud, forgery of documents (applications, addressed to Federal institutions to payment of compensation), as well as money laundering.
