Governor Cuomo allowed new Yorkers to pay in advance part of the property tax in 2018

This Friday, the Governor of the state of new York signed the emergency decree, which allows residents of the state to pay part of property taxes in 2018 year before it starts.

Andrew Cuomo said that this move will allow citizens «to defer pain for one year», referring to the changes associated with new tax reform.

An Executive order signed by Cuomo, to temporarily annul the laws of the state and the local levels, which forbade local authorities to make a charge to the tax accounts in advance. The final decision will remain with the local managers and responsible authorities.

Governor urged to use the benefits of the decree, and promised that residents will receive assistance from the Department of Finance and taxation.

Cuomo in recent weeks has repeatedly criticized the tax reform the Republican party, especially in connection with limitations on deductions for state and local taxes.

«This economic civil war to bleed between red and blue States,» said Cuomo on Friday.

Cuomo was supported by the majority leader in the Senate John Flanagan and speaker of the Assembly Carl Hasty.

«Although legislative action is always preferable, the speaker supports the following measures to help the residents of new York to get rid of the huge burden of draconian tax bill,» said Hasty.
