The U.S. Supreme court agreed to consider the legality of the immigration ban trump

The Supreme court on Friday afternoon agreed to consider the legality of recent immigration decree of the President of trump restricting entry into the country for citizens of several Muslim countries.

The decision was made two months after the court granted the request of the administration to fully restore the ban. The plaintiff in the case is the state of Hawaii. Debate on the matter presumably will be held in April, a decision will be made by June. The main issue raised before the court by the plaintiff is a question of legality of the adoption decree. Authorities in Hawaii say that the President had no right to sign the third decree. The plaintiffs also claim that the document contrary to the immigration laws of the States and is discriminatory on religious grounds.

Recall that in December the 9th circuit court of appeals in San Francisco decided that the adoption of the provisions set out in the latest immigration ban went beyond the powers of the President. The court decision also said that the presidential administration had not provided sufficient evidence that the people mentioned in the ban countries can pose a danger to the US, but because there is reason to believe that the decision is discriminatory on the basis of religion.

The court also explained that the administration may deny entry to USA citizens with six Muslim countries — Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and Chad — but only when they have strong ties with a person or organization in the United States.

However, the document says that it is only of a formal character before making a final decision on the issue by the Supreme court of the United States.
