Senator Orrin hatch today plans to submit for the consideration of Congress the bill under which it is planned to increase the number of visas issued to highly skilled workers-immigrants, and to allow spouses and children of misterstaley legally work in the United States.
According to the text of the bill called the Immigration Innovation (or I-Squared), previously studied by the newspaper The Hill, the number of work visas H-1B is proposed to increase from 65 000 to 85 000 per year. Further, to meet the demand among employers for skilled personnel from abroad, it is planned to continue the gradual expansion of the issuance of H-1B to 195 000 per year.
The bill also proposes to remove restrictions in the issuance of green cards based on employment established for each country.
If the document is approved, it will allow the dependents of visa holders H-1B to legally work in the USA with visa H-4.
The bill also proposes that upon approval of the application for issue of a work visa to prefer holders of degree of the master in the US or higher degree in foreign countries and the United States in the field of STEM.
At the same time, the document proposes to develop a system of employers ‘ liability that the latter are unable to hire for the position of an immigrant with a work visa if she can take an American with similar scientific degree.
Senator hatch believes that the bill will be approved by Congress, because it takes into account the nuances of the immigration policy promoted by the presidential administration and offers a solution that will satisfy the immigrants.
