Ex-official Nelly Kesean from California was jailed for immigration fraud

In California has sentenced a former employee of the social security (U.S. Social Security Administration — SSA) from the Sacramento — 46-year-old Nellie Kesoyan.

As reported by attorney McGregor W. Scott, the woman will spend 4 years and 9 months in prison for fraud and document fraud in the naturalization and obtaining citizenship.

It was found that working in SSA, Nelly Kesean made false documents for the 61-year-old Wanica Movsesian, who tried to naturalize in the United States. In addition, the official acted as a translator for 2 interview Movsesian and helped him to lie under oath. When the Service on Affairs of citizenship and US immigration (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) began an investigation in respect of false statements Kesoyan Movsesian and tried to hinder it.

Reading the judgment, judge Burrell expressed the hope that this verdict will be a serious message to all who will intend to deceive the government and abuse their power.

«The accused showed disrespect for the law and those who abide by it. This outrageous case,» said the judge.

Vanik Movsisyan was sentenced to 21 months in prison.
