It is allowed to launch fireworks in new York
Yes, but not everywhere. State law does not forbid to buy and to run an Amateur fireworks, but limits are allowed to use pyrotechnic devices defined characteristics.
According to the national security Service and the emergencies of the state of new York (Homeland Security and Emergency Services), you can use fireworks related to the type of sparkling devices (sparkling devices). These devices must be hand-held or mounted on a special base. Their weight of pyrotechnic content should not exceed 500 grams.
Note:
The sale and use of sparkling devices is allowed only where was not passed to prohibit their local law. Fireworks cannot be used in the following counties, cities and boroughs:

What types of fireworks are illegal
For all over the state are prohibited:
- firecrackers;
- Roman candles;
- missiles;
- spinning fireworks;
- fireworks on the metal rods (also security reasons).
