Appealed the verdict Williams is already the 14th victory of the lawyers involved in the review of cases involving former detective NYPD Louis Scarcella.

In the case of shifts after his attorney Victor HOU of Cleary Gottleib , together with its partners from the legal aid Society (Legal Aid Society) managed to find the only witness in the case – Margaret Smith. She refused his initial testimony, saying that Scarcella forced her to stipulate the Williams, insisted on his innocence.

Williams, after leaving the courthouse, said how grateful I am to my lawyers. «After 20 years behind bars I finally got the opportunity to live as a free man. It was a long and hard battle. I was sent to prison for a crime I did not commit, condemned for the death of a childhood friend,» added the 41-year-old Sean Williams.

One of his attorneys Victor HOU said that «although Mr. Williams never will be able to return the years taken illegally, we hope he and his family can find some solace in this verdict.»

After it became known about another prisoner, who was jailed due to illegal actions of the former detective, many have a logical question — when Louis Scarcella will be brought to justice?

Question that can’t be ignored: why isn’t Louis Scarcella in the jail himself at this point?

In may, we reported on another prisoner, which was conducted because of Louis’s Scarcely 18 years in prison on false charges.
