Town in Eastern Nebraska is going to prohibit yourself from rental housing to people living in the country illegally.
The bill city Council Scribner already adopted in the first reading last month, will now have a new vote. If it succeeds, this summer, the law will come into force.
According to the mayor, Ken Thomas, the public supports the bill. «There was not one person who would come up to me and somehow protested,» said Thomas.
The idea to adopt such a bill came to the city after they learned that near Scribner will soon open a new plant Costco.
The factory is planned to hire 1,000 workers. According to city authorities Scribner, plant hire immigrants as potential employees – Americans – already living in the area.
A similar regulation is already in force in neighboring Fremont. The American civil liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the city, but the Supreme court recognized the legitimacy Primorskogo regulations.
