School district of Davenport (Iowa) is investigating the case of the teacher, who portrayed a black character to Lafawnduh on Halloween party.
Megan Luloff — first grade teacher from Walcott Elementary School — were part of a group in which all chosen for transformation of the heroes of the 2004 Comedy «Napoleon Dynamite.» Luloff got the image of Lafawnda, which in the film is African American.
«I can’t articulate how it’s offensive and horrible for black people, — said the Vice-President of the school Board Linda Hayes. We work a lot with professionals from across the country and around the state to help solve the problem of disproportionality was and one of us fueling the fire of outright racism. What can I say? It’s very sad and completely unacceptable.»
Toby Paone, a Union representative, said that the investigation will include interviews with the teacher and possibly with other people at the party. Then the district will weigh the evidence and determine was this complaint justified or not. It is not known whether the teacher punished.
Photos of Luloff appeared a few days after October 23 Megyn Kelly — host of the talk show Megyn Kelly Today on NBC — said that there is nothing racist in that make-up under black.

«When I was a kid, it was OK that you dress up as the character,» the host said.
After the negative reaction in social networks Kelly wrote to colleagues from NBC News an email stating that she understands that it was wrong, and the makeup under black disgusting.
