Prisoner caught 32 years after escape

The prisoner was caught again in the hands of justice, three decades after escaping from prison in Arkansas.

The Department of corrections staff reported that Stephen Dishman, 60, was arrested Sunday in the city of Springdale in Northwest Arkansas, local law enforcement and police officers of the state.

Dishman, escaped from prison in Lincoln County on may 28, 1985, while serving seven years in prison for theft and robberycommitted in Washington County. According to the records of the Department of corrections, Dishman was sentenced to prison in December 1984 and received would be eligible for parole in December 1987.

Details about what led police to the fugitive, have not been disclosed.

The representative a press-services of the Department of corrections reported that Dismano will have to serve the remainder of his term. Prosecutors will decide whether to apply additional penalties in connection with the escape.
