The trial of El Chapo: the right hand of the drug Lord testified against the cartel

Yesterday, January 3, the son of a powerful drug Lord Ismael of Sambadi — Zambada Niebla Vicente (Vicente Zambada Niebla), better known as El Vicentillo (El Vicentillo), testified against the leader of the world’s largest Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel Joaquin El Chapo Guzman.

According to the investigation, 43-year-old El Vicentillo was the right hand of 61-year-old El Chapo, so it is believed that he owns any and all information on the activities of a criminal organization. And yesterday during the court session for more than five hours, he told everything he knew: smuggling routes, money laundering schemes, bloody wars, personal vendettas and multi-million dollar bribes.

He also solved the mystery of the legendary escape of El Chapo from prison in the Laundry cart in 2001. According to El Vicentillo, the drug helped personally a member of the security service of the former President of Mexico Vicente Fox (2001-2006), which he called «Colonel Adams.»

«After Chapo escaped, he was one of those who have provided us with information,» said one of the leaders of Sinaloa, who repeatedly smiled and nodded Guzman during testimony.

Vicentillo said that once he and his father met with the Colonel in the restaurant «El Lago» in Mexico city. Then the officer told them exactly where wanted, El Chapo, and advised to find a new hiding place. According to Vicentillo, Adams received more than $1 million for helping the cartel.

«I began to understand how everything was arranged, — said Vicentillo jury during the meeting. And gradually I started about my father’s business».

After a few years, he rose through the ranks and became the right hand of his father, controlling the supply of cocaine from Colombia to Mexico and from Mexico through the U.S. border to Chicago and Los Angeles.

El Vicentillo was arrested in March 2009 along with 5 bodyguards. His father, Ismael Zambada remains in the list of most wanted criminals of Management on fight against drugs of the USA.

In November of 2018 Junior Zambada pleaded guilty to cocaine smuggling in the United States. As part of its deal plea he faces ten years in prison.

In turn, El Chapo in 2017 pleaded not guilty on any of the charges, which include a few dozen murders and import into the United States more than 200 tons of cocaine. He faces a life sentence in prison and forfeiture of $14 billion.
