The prisoner repeatedly said that he wants to die and not spend the rest of his life in prison. After 2 scheduled lethal injection was postponed, he had already tried several times to commit suicide.

«I very clearly expressed his desire to be executed, even if the pain during the execution is inevitable,» said Dozier through his lawyer in November 2017, when the court postponed the execution for the first time, and repeated his words in August 2018.

The execution was twice postponed because of litigation regarding the combination of 3 drugs, never used in U.S. lethal injections. (In Nevada sue pharmaceutical companies, not wishing to have their products used for such purposes.)

The Dozier refused to appeal against the death sentence (he was convicted for 2 murders of drug dealers in Phoenix and Vegas), but allowed lawyers to challenge on his behalf method, which officials had planned to use in the practice of executions.

Later sentenced said that he didn’t like that the trial was delayed. The man made 2 attempts to settle scores with life. At first he wanted to poison-drug, which has been impregnated paper in the letter which came from their relatives. Then he somehow (probably by mail) got a razor blade and tried to cut my jugular vein.

There is a consequence.
