The trial of El Chapo: former President of Mexico received from the drug Lord’s bribe of $ 100 million

Drug Lord Joaquin Guzman, known as Paul «El Chapo» (Shorty) in front individuals gave in 2012 a bribe of $ 100 million Net Enrique peña, who at that time held the post of President of Mexico. This was reported by one of the former close to the drug dealer – drug dealer Alex Cifuentes.

According to prosecutors, Cifuentes a Colombian drug dealer who was «right hand» of El Chapo. He’s not just worked as the Secretary of Guzman, but also spent two years hiding from the authorities in the Mexican mountains.

Cifuentes, were arrested in Mexico in 2013, and then extradited to the United States where he pleaded guilty to the drug trade and signed a cooperation agreement with the US government.

Cifuentes, was summoned to Federal court in Brooklyn in the case of El Chapo. There on Tuesday, he said that the transfer of bribes allegedly took place in October 2012. At that time peña Nieto has not yet formally inaugurated, but has already won the presidential election held in July of the same year. The bribe was transferred Nieto in Mexico city a woman named Madre Maria, who is a friend of El Chapo.

Peña Nieto has not yet responded to this statement, but he has previously denied that Chapo gave him bribes.

However, Francisco Guzman, former chief of staff of Nieto, has already responded to the accusation. On Tuesday evening he wrote on Twitter: «Statement by the Colombian drug dealer in new York are false, slanderous and absurd.»

Francisco added that peña Nieto was the one who «found, stopped and extradited Joaquin Guzman Loera».

Then peña Nieto and Calderon immediately rejected the accusations. Calderon called them «absolutely false and reckless».

If Joaquin Guzman is found guilty of international drug trafficking, conspiracy to murder rivals, charges of weapons possession and money laundering, it is waiting for a life sentence.

Now El Chapo is contained in a Federal prison in Manhattan, where prisoners recently went on hunger strike because of the denial of the right to meetings with family. More details on this can be found here.
