The new Yorker, who spent 20 years on charges of murder of his mother, declared innocent

He was held in prison for two decades on charges of the murder of his mother. But yesterday, 24 January, after a two-year investigation, the judge officially announced that the 46-year-old Huwe Burton from the Bronx are innocent and all of his criminal records erased. The man is considered a man who has never had problems with the law.

However, it is, of course, will not erase from the memory 19 and a half years that Burton spent in prison for a crime he did not commit.

“Huwe Burton is an extraordinary individual. The injustice he endured is unimaginable—to be wrongly convicted of murdering his mother, whom he adored. Today, Mr. Burton will finally get some measure of justice.” — Susan Friedman, @innocence attorney (Photo @sameerak_) pic.twitter.com/Pkul6Dh7Hl

Day 3 January 1989 Huwe Burton, then a teenager, came home from school — his family owned an apartment house on Eastchester road. The teenager found his mother Kiiu in a pool of blood. Near the body was a serrated knife. As it turned out, also lost the woman car.
Burton called 911 and two days later investigators forced the teenager to write a confession to murder.

A few days later, police arrested one Emmanuel Greene, one of the occupants of the Burtons, for violation of traffic rules. The car, which was driving green, belonged to KiII Burton, and of the men behind was a long list of violent crimes.

Despite the evidence pointing to green, the trial began all over the son of a murdered woman who was sentenced to 20 years in prison. But Emmanuel green was killed in 1991 during quarrel from-for jealousy.

Huwe Burton was released from prison in 2009. And two years ago, he engaged attorneys of the group The Innocence Project. Within two years, the defenders sought to have the case of Burton was revised.

«The story that Have Burton killed his mother, he died for all,» said Barry Scheck, a lawyer and founder of the Innocence Project, after the court decision.

Burton himself said that he wants to help other innocent prisoners. «Don’t stop. Don’t give up. Continue to fight,» said the man.
