In California conducted a special operation to combat trafficking in persons

During a three-day RAID across California last week, was rescued about 50 victims of human trafficking, including 14 juveniles. This was announced on Tuesday, January 29, representatives of law enforcement agencies. Federal agencies and the state police arrested 339 people, including 156 men on suspicion of harassment and incitement. During coordinated operation, detectives posed as teenagers over and talked to potential criminals in social networks.

At a press conference in downtown Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff Maria Gutierrez urged all parents to monitor their children’s behavior online. According to her, perverts and freaks in cyberspace, feel free.

Gutierrez said Los Angeles police arrested 30-year-old man in connection with the distribution of child pornography after the discovery of several videos that showed the attack on 6-year-old child. In the County of contra Costa 54-year-old man used a social network to deceive and seduce 14-year-old boy. The man sent the boy photos with a $ 100 bill and told him to meet him in the Park. According to Gutierrez, when this man arrived at the meeting place, he was arrested by the staff of task force, including an undercover officer who was posing as a boy on the Internet.

Since its creation in 2015, the members of the Task force on combating trafficking in persons of the County of Los Angeles (LASDHTB) have rescued more than 300 victims, 220 of whom were minors. The task force has arrested more than 1.5 thousand people, including about 460 men detained on suspicion in the purchase of sexual services, and over 320 suspected pimps. According to representatives of LASDHTB, the arrests have resulted in 11 cases in Federal court in California.

A large-scale operation last week, which ended on January 26, was the result of joint work LASDHTB and more than 90 other institutions across the state.
