The Assembly of new York endorsed the Law on vegan food in hospitals — the next step is the state Senate

The Assembly of the state of new York passed a bill that will allow patients in hospitals to choose vegetarian options at every meal. Now the bill moves to the Senate of the state of new York, and if passed, it will become the law of the state of new York.

Gottfried, requires that hospitals of the state of new York gave patients a choice of snacks and meals that do not contain such animal products as meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, eggs or honey. The Physicians Committee, a nonprofit organization with nearly 12,000 members-doctors, very pleased with the adoption of this bill.

In June 2017 American Medical Association adopted a resolution «Healthy food options in hospitals», which appealed to the U.S. hospitals with the request to improve the health of patients, staff and visitors by starting to give people a diet of food of plant origin.

Many hospitals in the US have already begun to expand its menu. For example, since January of this year, 11 municipal hospitals in new York every Monday to offer their patients a wide range of meat-free dishes for Breakfast, lunch and dinner in addition to the regular menu.
