«We are outraged that Chris watts was allowed to keep photos of the victims for whose murder he is condemned, — said in the text of the petition. — Allow the killer to store «trophy» from his victims contrary to the mission of the Wisconsin Department of corrections, which focuses on public safety and the protection of victims. We the public and taxpayers demand that all photos of watts ‘ victims were confiscated, and that he did not receive more lenient treatment because of the publicity of his criminal case.»
In August 2018 Chris watts killed his pregnant wife, 34-year-old Sinan, and two daughters, 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste, and then threw the body out in the oil fields where he worked.
He pleaded guilty to the murders and is serving five life sentences after prosecutors and the family of Senan watts has agreed to waive the death penalty.
Information about photos from a jail cell came after the Bureau of investigation of the state published excerpts from the interrogation of watts in 2019.
«Had the camera there are pictures of his wife and daughters, and he talks to them every morning and every night», — stated in the document that watts describes in detail the murder.
The petition, which currently has collected more than 8,000 signatures and demands that the photos returned to the families of the victims.
