California will become the first state that will provide health insurance illegal immigrants

California will become the first state that offered health insurance to some illegal immigrants.

California legislators on Sunday, June 9, agreed to the conclusion of the budget deal, which will make the Golden state the first state in the United States that offer health insurance part of the adult illegal immigrants.

These medical benefits included in the budget plan of the state for the next year. The total budget, according to the Associated Press, will be $213 billion.

According to the news, the Democrats of the legislature of California has agreed with the budget agreement, but it must be approved by the full legislative Assembly of the state.

California legislators should pass a budget before midnight June 15.

The new budget agreement would allow illegal immigrants with low income and aged between 19 to 25 years old to be eligible to participate in the program Medicaid in California.

The right to participate in the program will receive about 90 thousand people, and it will cost the state about $98 million a year.

In addition, the budget agreement would make California the first state to offer assistance with monthly insurance premiums to middle-class families. So, a family of four earning more than $150 thousand a year, will have the right to obtain from the government approximately $100 per month for bills for medical insurance.

Governor Gavin Newsom has proposed these two projects to be included in the state budget next year. Some lawmakers believed that the bill concerning illegal immigrants, was to cover all adults, but Newsom has spoken out against this, noting that such a program will cost the state too expensive — $3.4 billion per year.
