This hotel in Michigan will provide free numbers to women who come here to do abortion

In recent months, several US States have passed harsh laws that hinder the carrying out of abortions.

After that, Shelly O’brien, managing The Yale Hotel in a tiny Michigan town made an offer for those who intend to leave their state to get an abortion to come to Michigan and stay in her hotel for free.

«Dear sisters living in Alabama, Ohio, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri or any other state, where there are similar laws restricting access to abortion. We can’t do anything with how you are treated in your state. But if you get to Michigan, we will help you overnight for a few days and transportation before and after the operation», — is spoken in the message of the hotel in Facebook.

According to O’brien, her – the mother of three children in a conservative city with a population of 2000 people – it was a bold move. But the woman said: felt like it was important.

«If a woman has no control over her body, it is not a free world,» said O’brien.

She added that so far no one accepted her offer, but the hotel is always ready so-called «Jane». The name is a tribute to Jane ROE, alias, Rules Makkolli, the plaintiff in the case of the Supreme court «ROE V. Wade» (1970s).

Then the Supreme court ruled that a woman has the right to terminate a pregnancy on their own until, until a fetus becomes viable. In the context of this decision viability means «the ability to exist outside the mother’s body, including medical support.» The approximate date for the achievement of autonomy is 7 months (28 weeks).

Earlier, Alabama had adopted a nearly complete ban on abortion, including if a woman becomes pregnant after rape. Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Ohio adopted the draft laws «On heartbeat», which ban abortions after the fetal heartbeat.

Last week Republicans in the Senate of the state of Michigan introduced a bill that would punish doctors for performing abortions after detection of a fetal heartbeat.

However, the Governor-Democrat state Gretchen Whitmer said she would veto all bills that restrict access to abortion.
