On Saturday, June 15, the President of trump endorsed Senator Steve Daniels recently proposed to make a constitutional amendment that would prohibit publicly burn the US flag. Similar rules have operated in the United States — until 1989, when the Supreme court ruled that the public burning of a national symbol is a form of freedom of speech, and therefore protected by the First amendment.
«[I] entirely on the side of Senator Daniels and amendments strictly prohibit to burn our American flag! There is nothing to think!», — said the acting head of state in his Twitter account.

Senator Daniels in conjunction with a member of the house of representatives Steve Samakom introduced the bill on Friday, June 14. According to the document, its purpose is «to restore Congress’s constitutional power necessary in order to prevent desecration of the flag of the United States.»

Before the Supreme court overturned laws that criminalize public burning of the US flag on the outcome of the case «Texas V. Johnson», the ban was in force in 48 States. President trump has already spoken in his favor — including during the elections in 2016, suggesting that as punishment for «offenders» deprivation of citizenship or imprisonment.
