A pair of tourists was Malaysian in a hellish prison because of stamps in their passports

An American tourist and his girlfriend were in terrible conditions in a prison in Malaysia after the immigration officer forgot to put a mark on crossing the border in their passports.

Will Lucas and his girlfriend Sam were thrown into the local jail when I was ready to Board the flight back to the US. Another immigration officer said that volunteers of the shelter did not put stamps in passports upon arrival in Malaysia, and accused them that they entered the country illegally.

Will’s mom Denise Lucas, who lives in Magnolia, Texas, said that her son called her and complained about the «disgusting» conditions in prison.

Denise panicked when she realized that neither will nor Sam boarded the plane, flying home. The young people spent most of the summer as volunteers at the shelter, and then went to Malaysia to help with a project on the use of environmental resources. No young man or girl could not be contacted via telephone, and his father Sam has made about 43 calls before I could find out just what his daughter and her boyfriend safe.

Denise suggested that volunteers could be in that position because I do not gave a bribe. She told KTRK, «will told me that the immigration officer in Malaysia missed them without stamps in their passports. He said that the employee, probably waiting for the money. Will added, «Mom, I didn’t pay him»». Denise added: «He did nothing wrong. They went there to help people. He has such a good heart and I’m terrified from what happened to him. But if he again go out to the country, I’ll go with him.»
