Today, July 7, the Russian Consulate General in new York announced yesterday that Dingmans ferry (PA), was detained a Russian citizen Vladimir Kuznetsov.
According to the Department of justice, the Russians living in Brooklyn, is accused of illegal export of rifle parts to Russia, attempting to export and conspiracy.
«As alleged in the complaint, Kuznetsov broke the laws designed to ensure our national security, said Richard P. Donohue, a Prosecutor in the Eastern district of new York. Today’s arrest demonstrates our resolve to investigate and prosecute those who illegally export prohibited items without regard to their end use, putting their own enrichment above the interests of our country.»
According to prosecutors, approximately from February 2017 onwards Kuznetsov and other participants in the Scam conspired to export from the USA to Russia, parts of firearms and other items included in the control list of the United States (United States Commerce Control List).
Kuznetsov bought over the Internet parts of firearms, including those used to build sniper rifles, according to prosecutors. He then sent them by mail to customers in Russia. So the deception was not revealed, Kuznetsov did about descriptions of items and the hiding of the rifles. For example, in a single package seized by customs and border protection (CBP) in July 2017 at the international airport named after John F. Kennedy (JFK), Kuznetsov Packed the butt of precision rifles H-S in a box of Bosch router.
And in April 2018, also at JFK, CBP officers seized another package Kuznetsov, which contained the skeleton of rifles and shop with five rounds of ammunition, hidden in sneakers, jeans, heating pads and device for measuring blood pressure.
