Citizens of Russia and Italy accused the United States conspired and attempted theft of trade secrets from an American aviation company.
Allegations 57-year-old Alexander Korshunova and 59-year-old Maurizio Paolo Bianchi. Kites were arrested on 30 August at the international airport of Naples in Italy.
Alexander Korshunov – top Manager of «United engine Corporation» (UEC), which is owned by the Corporation. According to the ODK website, in the late 1990-ies kites was the second Secretary of the foreign Ministry. In November 2018 was appointed to the position of Director of business development, JSC «United engine Corporation».
Bianchi was the former Director of the Italian subsidiary of GE Aviation, one of the world’s leading suppliers of aircraft engines, the headquarters of which is located in Ohio. Working in the branch, Bianchi was responsible for business in China, Russia, and Asia.
Leaving a subsidiary company, Bianchi, began working in the company Aernova in Forli, Italy.

In documents, prosecutors alleged that in the period from 2013 to 2018 Bianchi on behalf of Korshunova — hired current or former employees of the Italian branch GE Aviation for Advisory work associated with gearboxes for jet engines.
In the official statements of the employees indicated that «the owner of the patent and intellectual property obtained in the result of this work is the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation».
During the consultations, employees allegedly used trade secrets belonging to GE Aviation for the preparation of the technical report.
Conspiracy to commit trade secret theft is punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term up to 10 years.
