Orlando police are conducting an internal investigation against officer Dennis Turner, who on 19 September arrested two 6-year-old girls. The incidents were not linked.

According to police chief Orlando Rolon, a police officer transferred to the reserve, and its duties are suspended until the investigation is complete.

Department policy requires the officer got permission from the shift supervisor before the arrest of children under 12 years. As reported by WKMG, this did not happen during arrests last Thursday.

One child, whose name is not mentioned, after his arrest, was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center, and then handed over to the family.

The grandmother of the second victim 6-year-old Kaya Roll, Meralin Kirkland, told WKMG that her granddaughter was handcuffed, then fingerprinted and charged with causing bodily harm after she threw a tantrum and kicked somebody in elementary school Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy.

«I said, «What do you mean she was arrested?» They said the incident occurred, and she kicked someone, she was charged with, and she’s on her way,» recalls Meralin call from school.

The woman said her granddaughter suffers from bouts of sleep apnea (stop breathing). Because of the health problems a girl can be aggressive.
