Fight club: Three nurses incited each other elderly patients with dementia and took their fight on video

Three employees of the institutions for persons with disabilities and memory disorders in Winston-Salem (NC), was arrested after it turned out that they incited each other patients with dementia.

According to court documents, we know of at least two cases of abuse of patients occurred in the Danby House in June. During the first incident, Marilyn McKay, 32, had used force against the 73-year-old woman, pushing her into the room. Tonatia Tyson, 20, and Tanesha Jordan, 26, were watching — but decided not to intervene, instead taking the event on camera.

During the second incident, the employee observed, was recorded on video and even encouraged a fight between two women with dementia, aged 70 and 73 years. According to the investigation, at some point the patient started to ask the opponent to let her go and call for help, but Mackay, Tyson, and Jordan just kept rolling. One of them told the woman to shut up.

McKay charged in two cases of attack on a person with disabilities. Tyson and Jordan are accused in one case, an attack on a person with disabilities.

In an official statement, representatives of the Danby House said that all three were dismissed in June, «as soon as learned about the situation leadership.» Since then, I assure in the institution, they changed the system of training and testing staff so this doesn’t happen again.
