«It was a war between the cartel Chihuahua and Sonora cartel, and these women were at the epicenter,» wrote Miller.

Five other children were injured with bullet wounds and survived. According to a statement published late on Monday, one child was missing.

«To ask for help to the Mexican government — it’s like asking for help from the mafia to fight the mafia,’ said the relative. — We need the help of the American government. We need help from our people. We are citizens of the United States. Each of them [has] a citizen of the United States.»

The victim belonged to a breakaway Mormon community.
