The priest was sentenced to prison for what he had wrapped the teenager in a «bubble» film

Reverend Brian Stanley from Michigan was sentenced to two months in prison after he pleaded guilty to the incident in 2013 when a teenager wrapped in bubble wrap.

As reported by the Detroit Free Press, Stanley was a priest in St. Margaret’s Church in Oswego (Michigan). The boy’s parents came to him to ask if he could advise the child (on what, not reported).

Instead, Stanley took the teenager to the pantry cleaner in the Church and wrapped him from head to toe in bubble wrap, duct tape and taped his eyes and mouth. So he kept the boy for 30 minutes, then released. The teenager told their parents about the incident, and they reported to the police, who launched an investigation, and the diocese.

At that time, the Oswego police decided not to press charges, and Stanley was reinstated. And in 2017, the diocese learned of additional allegations against the priest «the same pattern».

The case remained «frozen» until the police RAID Michigan’s seven Catholic dioceses of the state in October of 2018 did not reveal many documents relating to various abuses. At the moment the charges are brought in seven priests, including Brian Stanley.

Stanley pleaded guilty and agreed to register in the sex offenders register, as the office of the Prosecutor called his actions «sexually motivated».

Attorney Stanley Michael hills did not agree with this step saying by the Associated Press: «there is No proof of this. I objected to the father Stanley was entered into the registry».

The attorney General of Michigan Dana Nessel stated that the task force will continue to investigate allegations according to which there are «thousands of pages of documents.»

«This is only the beginning,» said Nessel.

The Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer, herself a survivor of sexual abuse has made prosecuting these cases a priority in the state.
