The law on reproductive privacy was signed in may last year and serves as a protection of the right to an abortion in Rhode island.

In response to the decision by Bucci to deny legislators to partake of the sacrament, the press Secretary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence WJAR said that every pastor can solve this at the local ward level.

Bucci comments about pedophilia criticized several politicians from Rhode island, including state representative Carol Hagan Maclntyre.

«Father Bucci had to come to Parliament house to hear the heartbreaking stories of the victims of pedophilia — she wrote on Twitter. — Because of the wounded of the voices I heard, their lives were almost destroyed. Those whom we hear is the lucky ones who are still alive».
