In the US the teacher forbade the girl to write a story about his two mothers

Teacher of high school in Michigan asked the class to write about a problem that is near and dear to them.

Destiny Mcdermitt, a student of Hill-McCloy High School in Montrose, was going to write about the marriage of their mothers, Angela Macdermott Jackson and Chris Jackson, but the teacher told her the topic was not suitable. This girl told MLive.com.

«For every generation in every country, every day there are issues about which people want to speak, — stated in the assignment. We ask you to think about what concerns you in your community, your state, your country or the world.»

But the teacher said Macdermott that she can’t write about his two mothers and same-sex marriage because it might offend someone. Then the girl asked if she could ask classmates if they bother the subject matter, but the school employee told her to do it.

The girl complained to the district administration and was transferred to another class.

«[It] insulted me, because I have two mothers, [who] married,» wrote the teen in his complaint.

The head of the school district montrose Linden Moore stated that the teacher denied not only Mcdermitt. She also was not allowed another student to write about animal cruelty. According to Moore, the teacher should be more precise in the problem statement.

Several students wrote letters in support of the girls.
