The girl, thought dead in the fire, was found alive and is arrested for the murder of two people

Girl 16 years old from Georgia was discovered in Kentucky in a few hours after her house was completely burned and killed 2 people. Now the teenager is charged with arson and murder.

Candace Walton (age 16) charged with murder, arson and theft after the fire accident on Thursday morning, as told AJC.com a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s office Monroe County Georgia Anna Lewis. Power of Kentucky was stopped by Candice’s stolen her mother’s car on the same day, i.e. on Thursday, and arrested her.

Emergency services arrived to the house on Old Zebulon Road at about 3:30 am found that housing is half in flames, as reported AJC.com. Inside they found 2 bodies. The Sheriff’s office initially identified the victims as Candace Walton and her 21-year-old brother Gerald Walton. But they later retracted his statement, admitting that the assumption that it was Candice, was incorrect.

On Friday, Lewis said that investigators believe, Gerald Walton and mother of children Tasha VanDiver fell victim to a fire, but they still expect, when the Bureau of investigation of the state of Georgia to confirm the identities of the victims.

Tasha did not see since the fire and the authorities declared her missing. The Sheriff’s office previously noted that the car the women were found, but they did not say where she was found.

Candice Walton was found by deputies in the County of McCracken, Kentucky, as explained Lewis. The district is located more than 450 miles away from Monroe County. It stopped on the road because the car was flagged as stolen because VanDiver was declared wanted. Because of the «suspicious nature of the incident,» Candace was taken into custody, allowing the Sheriff’s deputies from Monroe County to visit and interview her in jail.

Candice is waiting for extradition to Georgia, where she will face charges. While the other information on the case was provided.
