Dad handcuffed the eyes of 6-year-old daughter allegedly for violation of the conditions of social distancing

Matt Mooney believes that the police Brighton, Colorado needs to apologize to him.

For a man 33 years old was handcuffed in the Park Donelson Park in Brighton in front of his 6-year-old daughter on Sunday in the middle of the day, after the police told him that he violated the custody of the state in relation to social distancing.

Muni said FOX31 that he refused to provide the documents 3 police officers because he was sure that not doing anything illegal by playing the ball with his wife and child in the Park.

«She said, «Daddy, I don’t want you arrested». At that moment I thought «They can’t arrest me, that’s crazy.» I told her «don’t worry. Dad is not arrested. I have not done anything wrong. Don’t worry about it» and then they arrested me».

A former member of the city Council of Brighton Kirby Wallin made most of the incident on the phone, and in the video you can hear his voice. «Police Brighton takes his ball game with her daughter in an empty Park,» said the stunned Wallin.

Wallin later stated: «I find it hard to believe in things that happen in our society when the only way to solve a situation like this is to wear the cuffs on your dad in front of his daughter.»

The sign in the Park says «Closed» but more fine print «for groups more than 4 people the Park remains open for Hiking, Biking, Jogging and similar activities.»

Muni was only in the Park with his wife and daughter. He said that the officers had violated the order with respect to social distancing. «During his detention, none of the officers were not wearing masks, no one had gloves, and they were to see me face to face when I was handcuffed, they touched me,» — said the man.

Mooney said he was released after spending about 10 minutes in the back seat of a police car, but he thinks he still deserves an apology.

«If you’re going to arrest people for no reason in front of 6-year-old daughter, this will lead to even more problems in the future,» he said.

The police made a statement on Sunday evening, not to mention Muni and his arrest. In a statement, the social network was simply said: «the Brighton Police are investigating a situation that occurred in the afternoon in the Park Donelson Park. This is an active investigation and we cannot provide additional information until its completion».
