The police Department of Baltimore is investigating a video in which one of the officers intentionally coughing near several people during a pandemic coronavirus.

Viral video on Instagram starts with an unidentified officer walks past the woman who records it on her mobile phone.

On the record he coughs a few times, not covering the mouth when passing by women and some of her neighbors.

Video appeared on Instagram on Tuesday, April 7, and was viewed over 200 000 times.

Bureau of public integrity at the police Department launched an internal investigation, which will include the frame with the camera of an officer.

«It (the video) is not only disturbing but also inexplicable, especially given the high level of clear and specific guidance that we gave at the outset in relation COVID-19, — said the Commissioner of police Michael Harrison. — From the officers always expect that they will be sensitive and professional in relation to the community, but what we saw in the video is disturbing».

As reported by The Baltimore Sun, more than 300 police officers from Baltimore has been quarantined since the beginning of the spread of the virus in Maryland.

The President of the city Council of Baltimore Brandon Scott called the actions of Sgt «unacceptable».
