On Tuesday, during the RAID the police arrested a resident of California who was caught trying to sell hundreds of masks during the crisis of the coronavirus at inflated prices.
Police Department Baldwin Park wrote in Facebook that the officers received a tip the man selling respiratory masks N95 via the website at a price of $300 per box. Thus masks are an important element of personal protective equipment, which is not enough for many doctors due to low supply in the outbreak COVID-19.
After investigators met with the seller who turned out to be a 30-year Gonvill of Baldonado from Covina, they bought a box of N95 masks for $300.
After that, Maldonado was arrested on suspicion of price manipulation, the police said.
In the ensuing investigation, the officers found a 21 package, which contained 420 respiratory masks N95. «In times of crisis the law prohibits setting prices that are more than 10% above what cost the goods before the period of crisis,» said the police.
