Husband killed wife and tried to pass it off as death from coronavirus

The Florida man charged with killing his ex-wife and trying to cover up the crime, extraditing him for the death from the coronavirus.

Friends suspected that Gretchen Anthony, 51, did something wrong, received from her a suspicious text message at the end of March. The woman wrote that she supposedly «heavy» case COVID-19 — however, the police of the city of Jupiter quickly found out that Gretchen is not treated in any local hospital. Besides, Anthony didn’t even try to request insurance reimbursement for medical services.

After that, the attention of the authorities was attracted to the husband of a woman — 48-year-old David Anthony, with whom they parted ways in February. According to the report, his vocabulary extremely suspiciously coincided with texting «Gretchen».

Police suspicions only strengthened when a neighbor living near the couple’s home, said that shortly before his disappearance, Anthony had heard there could be heard «bloodcurdling screams» and some woman was saying «it hurts».

«As the investigation and collection of evidence, we have every reason to believe that David E. Anthony is responsible for the disappearance and subsequent murder of his wife,» — said the police Jupiter in the official statement on Facebook.

The suspect was detained in Las Cruces (nm) 31 March — 10 days after he allegedly killed his wife. The man charged in the kidnapping and murder of the second degree.

Gretchen’s body still not found.
